The film, which begins shooting in Louisiana later this month, tells the story of a woman trying to win a local butter-carving contest. Alicia will play the adoptive mother of a teen girl who competes against Jen in the contest, and Hugh will play one of Jen’s former flames, according to Variety! Twilight starlet Ashley Greene also recently became attached to the film - she’ll play Jen’s step-daughter! |
| Sarah Palin Earns $12 Million Since July Posted: 13 Apr 2010 07:35 PM PDT  Sarah Palin has made 100 times her old salary of $125,000 a year since leaving her post as Governor of Alaska. The 46-year-old Fox News correspondent has reportedly earned $12 million since leaving her former job in July. Sarah has raked in cash from TV, book deals and speaking appearances. The $12 million salary is only an estimate of what Sarah is bringing in - an aide told ABC News that now that she’s no longer a public official, “her fees and earnings are private.” |

The 27-year-old actress will play Haley, the overachieving younger daughter of Don Johnson and Mary Steenbergen. Southern Discomfort centers on a father whose life is “turned upside down when his grown kids move back in with him.” Deadline reports the CW will either renew One Tree Hill or frosh drama Life Unexpected. | Emma Roberts Clarifies 'Target' Comment Posted: 13 Apr 2010 05:10 PM PDT  Emma Roberts got flamed when she said she would never do a fashion line like “Emma Roberts for Target.” But it’s not like how it sounds! The 19-year-old actress took to her Twitter to explain the situation: “I did not mean for it to sound like I said Target is cheesy. I love Target and have been going there my whole life. I meant to say if I ever design a line I would not put my name on it but do it more anonymously like the Olsens and The Row line. Posted: 13 Apr 2010 03:10 PM PDT  Buffy the Vampire Slayer creator Joss Whedon is set to direct the Marvel Studios superhero flick The Avengers, opening May 2012. Deadline reports the all-star team of Marvel characters that will be featured in The Avengers include Iron Man (Robert Downey Jr.), Captain America (Chris Evans), Thor (Chris Hemsworth), as well as SHIELD director Nick Fury (Samuel L. But soon as Gaga came out everything switched up. Christina stepped out of her own shell to become something different. And the crazy thing is Christina is really talented. She has unlimited range when it comes to singing. Her voice is out of here. I just think she just needs to believe in herself more. | Chace Crawford Cuts Loose From 'Footloose' Posted: 13 Apr 2010 08:14 AM PDT  Chace Crawford is no longer involved in the remake of Footloose. The 24-year-old actor will begin work on Gossip Girl again this summer, which is when Paramount hopes to begin production on Footloose, according to EW. Chace became attached to the project about a year ago, replacing Zac Efron. Kenny Ortega left the project a little over six months ago and several rewrites have taken place on the script. Julianne Hough is still set to play the love interest in the film. |

Here are some choice quotes from the 29-year-old Prince of Persia actor: On working with Heath Ledger: "He was very sensitive. He didn't always have a sense of performance in his everyday life. He knew who he was. I think actors very often, they know how to present something, and that's part of their job. I think he was just really sensitive. We often used to do a lot of things together, because people were very interested in him and I think we felt safe together." On his experience filming Brokeback Mountain: "There was something magical in that time. We all slept in our trailers out by a trailer park in the first month of making that movie. I was sleeping next to Ang's trailer; Ang's trailer was next to Heath and Michelle's trailer—they'd kind of moved in together. And Michael Hausman, the producer, brought his Airstream trailer down. And it was just us, by this river, for a month. And we would walk to set, and we would eat together, and we would make coffee in the morning, and I would wake up in the morning and there would be Ang Lee doing Tai Chi outside of my trailer, and it was just magical." On how Heath's death affected him: "I don't really like talking about it. That period of time was…it was difficult. He was very sensitive. The best answer I could give to any of those things is that I really don't know. Particularly right now in my life." On his parents’ divorce: “I think it takes a lot of courage for my parents to make the decision that they made, and I I trust both of them and their outlook on life. They're wonderful parents to me and my sister." Brother-in-law Peter Sarsgaard on a fight he and Jake had, causing them not to speak for ten days: "The nice thing is, for Jake, he doesn't see having any argument as something that ruins a relationship. He sees it as something that could potentially help one. That's something I learned from him. I'm extremely close with him. He's basically my brother." Peter further points out, in extolling Jake's virtues, how unusual he is: "It's a very difficult thing—or it has been over the course of my life—for me to have respect for people like Jake, who are not self-destructive, who are positive.
