The 33-year-old actor was promoting Lucid, the first comic from his production company, Before the Door Pictures. | Casey Affleck Sued for Sexual Harassment, Countersues Posted: 24 Jul 2010 04:59 PM PDT  Casey Affleck is being sued for sexual harassment by a producer who worked on his forthcoming documentary about his brother-in-law Joaquin Phoenix’s bid to become a rap star. According to THR, Amanda White worked on “I’m Still Here: The Lost Year of Joaquin Phoenix” and alleges Casey refused to pay her when she wouldn’t spend the night in a hotel room with him. She also claims she had to endure “an impromptu shoot in a Las Vegas hotel room filled with hookers and transvestites.” Casey isn’t sitting this one down and intends to countersue. “The allegations brought upon our clients are preposterous and without merit,” says litigator Michael Plonsker, who reps Casey. “Ms. White was terminated from the production over a year ago. She and her lawyers believe that this maliciously and erroneously filed complaint will cause the producers to succumb to her outrageous and baseless demands. She is mistaken. The complaint will be vigorously defended and cross-claims will be filed against her.” So bizarre! |
| Garrett Hedlund Interview -- JustJared.com Exclusive Posted: 24 Jul 2010 03:44 PM PDT  Garrett Hedlund visits his movie Tron: Legacy’s booth during Comic-Con 2010 at California’s San Diego Convention Center on Friday (July 23). The 25-year-old actor gave JustJared.com an exclusive interview. Check it out below! JJ: How does this Comic-Con experience compare to last year’s? GH: It’s funny. When we were here last year, it was just a week after we had finished filming so we didn’t know what to expect. We knew there was a huge reaction from the year before with the VFX footage. Comic-Con is the whole reason this film exists. It’s because of what [director] Joseph Kosinski did and what he’s shown at Comic-Con. Last year when we did our press conference, before the Hall H panel, there were about 23 people sitting in the room. This year, it was hundreds of people in a board room, so you get to see the growth of anticipation and curiosities. JJ: How exciting was it to be cast in this film? GH: It was so nerve-wracking! I had never done a film where I was in every scene all day every day. I always wanted to be a piece to the puzzle, to sort of formulate a great puzzle. I didn’t care to be the whole picture. Maybe I just wasn’t ready for it at that point. When I was doing table reads with Jeff [Bridges], Olivia [Wilde] and Joseph Kosinski, I started saying “maybe I can do this”. Once we started filming, I knew it would be a long tedious process, very strenuous and hard at times but incredibly exciting. Its such an exciting experience to be involved with Joseph Kosinski, who I feel is the biggest genius of the next generation. JJ: Any fun stories from set? GH: The [glowing] suit fit like a glove! It was tight as all hell, but fantastic wardrobe to wear. We even had to wear a full body harness underneath it to get wired up to do wire work. Then there were shoulder rolls, looking left, looking right, standing up, catching a disc, and throwing a disc. If you were watching from the sidelines, it was quite the show. Posted: 24 Jul 2010 12:44 PM PDT  Linda Hamilton, who played the original Sarah Connor in the Terminator franchise, will be taking on the role of "Mama Bartowski" on NBC’s spy series Chuck. “She’s been such an icon as an action-female badass mom,” creator Josh Schwartz said at Comic-Con on Saturday morning (July 24). “The fans put it out there, and she heard about it, and was like, ‘I heard I’m Chuck’s mom.’” The 53-year-old actress will first appear in the season four premiere, which also stars The Daily Show correspondent Olivia Munn. | Pigeon Poop Lands Near Kings of Leon Bassist's Mouth, Concert Canceled Midway Posted: 24 Jul 2010 11:29 AM PDT  After performing just three songs on Friday night (July 23), the Kings of Leon canceled their concert because of unsanitary conditions at the Verizon Wireless Amphitheater in St. Louis, MO. After the Nashville-based band performed “Taper Jean Girl,” the third song of their set, drummer Nathan tweeted, “So sorry St. Louis. We had to bail, pigeons sh–ting in Jared’s mouth and it was too unsanitary to continue. FULL REFUNDS 4 ALL. SO SORRY. Don’t take it out on Jared, it’s the f–king venue’s fault. You may enjoy being s–t on but we don’t. Sorry for all who traveled many miles.” KoL’s publicist even released the following statement: ——————— PIGEON INFESTATION FORCES KINGS OF LEON OFFSTAGE EARLY IN ST. LOUIS An infestation of pigeons living in the rafters of the Verizon Amphitheatre in St. Louis, MO, forced the Kings of Leon to walk offstage after three songs last night. Even though opening bands The Postelles and The Stills came offstage complaining of getting riddled with large amounts of pigeon excrement, the Kings of Leon decided to carry on regardless. The band felt it would be unfair to the fans to cancel the show at that late moment. "I'm surprised they stayed on for as many songs as they did," said Vector Management’s Andy Mendelsohn, who reps KoL. "Jared was hit several times during the first two songs. On the third song, when he was hit in the cheek and some of it landed near his mouth, they couldn't deal any longer. It's not only disgusting — it's a toxic health hazard. They really tried to hang in there. We want to apologize to our fans in St. Louis and will come back as soon as we can." When the band arrived earlier in the day, the venue warned management that there had been a significant pigeon infestation problem with summer shows over the years, but they were doing all they could to fix it. "We couldn't believe what The Postelles and The Stills looked like after their sets," said bassist Jared Followill. "We didn't want to cancel the show, so we went for it. We tried to play [but] it was ridiculous." Kings of Leon are headed to Chicago tonight to perform at the First Midwest Bank Amphitheatre as scheduled. |

| Matt Bomer Has Just Jared On His Heart -- Exclusive Interview Posted: 24 Jul 2010 06:29 AM PDT  Matt Bomer holds up a JustJared.com coaster before chatting in an exclusive interview at Comic-Con! Here’s what the 32-year-old White Collar actor had to share: JJ: How has your life changed since the success of White Collar? MB: Well, to me, it’s so great that the people are responding to the character in the way they are and I’ve been working in the business for a long time playing lots of different roles, so there is obviously something about the writing and the role. Something that I’ve tapped into that thankfully people seem to be responding to. My life hasn’t really changed at all - I still put on the same t-shirt and jeans every morning and just go to work and do my thing. I think as an artist, you’re always hoping that people respond to the stories you are doing and I’m just grateful that people seem to be enjoying White Collar. JJ: I think it has something to do with you wearing hats… MB: (laughs) it probably does have something to do with the hats and the wardrobe as well. JJ: Are you as fashionable as your character is? MB: I’m not into shopping - I’m really more of a T-shirt and jeans kinda guy! I get out of the shower and go about my day. But spending so much time with Neal and getting to be dapper on a daily basis definitely rubbed off on me to a certain extent. I try to make an effort when I go out. MB: My work out plan is get to the gym when humanly possible, which actually isn’t that often, I’m sad to say. I do about 70 hours a week on the show, so I just fit it in when I can and I try to eat healthy in the meantime. JJ: What can you share with us with the upcoming season of White Collar? (SPOILER FROM LAST SEASON!) MB: We still have the same fun procedural element, there is also the great woody dancer that goes on between all of us. In terms of Neal, with Kate dying at the end of last season, he’s really taking some darker turns and is sort of hellbent, so I am going to do some new things with the character. JJ: Any upcoming guest stars? MB: Yeah, we have a lot of fun guest stars coming up. We have Hilarie Burton come on and plays a character who has an old axe to grind with my character so we are constantly at each-others throats. There is also a flirtation sort of sexual tension between us as well. |
