| Anne Hathaway: White Queen is a Punk-Rock, Vegan Pacifist Posted: 02 Feb 2010 06:20 PM PST  Anne Hathaway is gearing up for the release of Tim Burton’s Alice in Wonderland, which will premiere in London on February 25! Here’s what Anne had to share about her role in the film… On her character: “I play the White Queen. When I was trying to work her out, I kept saying to myself, ‘She is a punk-rock, vegan pacifist.’ So I listened to a lot of Blondie, I watched a lot of Greta Garbo movies, and I looked at a lot of the artwork of Dan Flavin. Then a little bit of Norma Desmond got thrown in there, too. And she just kind of emerged. And I really like her.” On working with green screens: “I took a very Zen approach to filmmaking on this one. It sounds silly, but I had no idea what was going on. I walked in and it was like being in a neon-green terrarium–green on all sides, and tons of empty space. Tim knew what was going on—he was the one that is in control of it. All I needed to do was hit my mark and say my lines, and wait for Tim to tell me that we’re ready to move on. And that was my approach to it. I didn’t put any other pressure on myself. I just showed up and acted.” On her costuming: I’m wearing a dress designed by Colleen Atwood. It’s grand and the most fragile dress I’ve ever worn in my life. I love it so much. It’s beautiful. If you ever had a dream of being any kind of fairy princess, this is the dress you would wear. I love the idea that it’s this idealized, fairy-tale Queen, but it is in a Tim Burton movie, so there’s darkness mixed up with it as well.” Alice in Wonderland hits theaters March 5 nationwide! |

The 37-year-old Prison Break star just completed the zombie flick Resident Evil: Afterlife, which is based off a popular video game series. Along the same lines, it looks like Wentworth might be associated with another popular video game, Bioshock. Although there are still no confirmations, back in May rumors started to surface that the actor was trying to land a role. The video game is about a plane crash survivor named Jack who discovers an underwater city filled with mutated monsters and lethal robots. |

The song, which will be available for download on Sunday, February 7, and released on CD the following day, features the voices of Leona Lewis, Mariah Carey, Jon Bon Jovi, Kylie Minogue, Miley Cyrus, Susan Boyle, Mika, Michael Buble and more! The collaboration was the brainchild of Simon Cowell, who said late last month that he’d get artists to sing on the track right away. | ‘Boston Legal’ Actor Justin Mentell Dies Posted: 02 Feb 2010 12:20 PM PST  Boston Legal alum Justin Mentell has died at the age of 27. The actor, who played Garrett Wells on the show from 2005 to 2006, was killed after crashed his Jeep went down a steep embankment in Iowa County, Wisconsin. Justin was not wearing a seatbelt when the car crashed and hit two trees, according to People. Most recently, Justin appeared in G-Force with Nicolas Cage. Our thoughts go out to Justin’s family. |
