| Gwyneth Paltrow & Sophia Bush: Relatives of Shooting Victims Posted: 09 Jan 2011 09:20 PM PST  Gwyneth Paltrow and Sophia Bush have a direct connection to the tragic Arizona shooting that left U.S. Representative Gabrielle Giffords in critical condition. Gwyneth is a cousin of Rep. Giffords, but has never had the chance to meet her. She told E.T. in a statement, “Although I have never had the pleasure of meeting congresswoman Giffords, my thoughts and prayers are with her and her family as well as the other victims of this horrible act of senseless violence.” Sophia tweeted that she is the second cousin of Christina Green, the 9 year old girl who was killed during the tragedy. “There are no words to explain what my cousin’s family is going through in Arizona. How can this be? Violence is never the answer,” Sophia said. We send our prayers to all those affected by the tragic event. |

| Salma Hayek: 'Wicked' Mini-Series for ABC! Posted: 09 Jan 2011 06:00 PM PST  Salma Hayek is teaming with ABC to develop an eight-hour mini-series adaptation of Wicked: The Life and Times of the Wicked Witch of the West, according to TVLine. The mini-series will not be based on the enormously popular Broadway musical, but rather on the Gregory Maguire book that the musical is based on as well. Salma, who produced the television series Ugly Betty, will serve as a producer. No word yet on who will star in the mini-series. | 'True Grit': First Place at Weekend Box Office Posted: 09 Jan 2011 12:00 PM PST  True Grit took the first place spot at this weekend’s box office with $15 million in ticket sales! The film overtook Little Fockers, which won last week’s box office and brought in $13.7 million this weekend. Third place was Season of The Witch, with $10.7 million, followed Tron: Legacy with $9.8 million. Rounding out the top five was Black Swan, which brought in $8.3 million and has grossed over $60 million, according to estimates. Country Strong came in sixth place with $7.3 million. "Those [tributes] are reserved for artists with big catalogs," Glee creator Ryan Murphy tells EW. "Bieber comes up in episode 13 (titled "Comeback") as a small plot point. Sam (Chord Overstreet) sings a J.B. song to win Quinn's (Dianna Aragon) approval." The episode, which will air in the next few months, will also feature Rachel (Lea Michele) and Mercedes (Amber Riley) singing a song from the hit Broadway musical Rent. Can’t wait! |
