| Anderson Cooper Rescues Boy in Haiti Looting Incident Posted: 19 Jan 2010 04:20 PM PST  Real-life superhero Anderson Cooper, who’s currently in Haiti covering the aftermath of the deadly earthquake, relayed his experience in the middle of a looting chaos on his CNN blog. “I saw a looter on the roof of the store they’d broken into throw what I think was part of a concrete block into the crowd,” the 42-year-old journalist recounted. “It hit a small boy in the head.” “I ran to where he was struggling, and picked him up off the ground. I brought him to a spot about a hundred feet away. I could feel his warm blood on my arms,” Anderson wrote. Although the boy was carried to safety after he was picked up and brought to a safer area, Anderson’s still not sure what happened to him. “I hope he’s ok,” he wrote. The new TV show–which chronicles the journey of four best friends who get a chance to be part of the glamorous L.A. pop music scene– set a new record for a Nick series as the highest-rated and most-watched live-action premiere with kids, tweens and total viewers (6.8 million). Just before BTR aired, the new episode of iCarly's "iSaved Your Life" scored another record. The 41-year-old actress, who’s currently at Harvard pursuing her master’s degree in public administration, sat down with Redbook to speak about activism, advocacy and romance. On how her work as a global advocate for HIV-infected youth sparked her decision to go back to school: “My hope with the education is to have a finer, more nuanced understanding of the context in which I’m working as an actress and an activist. I really enjoy my life as it is, advocacy and art, moving between the two.” On staying home alone while her mother and sister toured the country: “One’s life can inform activism in a powerful way. What I grew up with was not so healthy, and I’m now flipping that. I have the ability to make something healthy out of it.” On her husband, race car driver Dario Franchitti: “He’s shy, he’s very funny, very down-to-earth. Very warm. He likes to play. Posted: 19 Jan 2010 12:20 PM PST  Kristen Bell dons a pretty Jenni Kayne dress and Louboutin shoes at JustJared.com’s screening of her new romantic comedy, When In Rome, at the AMC Theater in Times Square, New York City on Monday night (January 18). Here’s what the 29-year-old actress told JustJared.com exclusively right after taping Letterman: On her fave When In Rome scene to shoot: “The dining in the dark one where we got to knock things over! I think they only have these types of restaurants in NY/LA. When Josh [Duhamel] and I rehearsed, we would do it blindfolded. It was an an interesting exercise but we actually just put a green filter on the camera for the actual taping. It was an extremely destructive scene!” (laughs) On her fave prop from set: “I have a favorite scar! (points at bruise) I burnt my leg on a scooter in Rome and it burnt right through my pants! I had an apple-sized third-degree burn on my leg from the exhaust pipe. I saw two different doctors but I couldn’t understand what they were saying. No one spoke English [in Rome]! I went to a pharmacy, got all the supplies I needed myself and then researched on WebMD.com on how to take care of my own gnarly burn! When we were shooting those scenes with me standing in the fountain, I had a huge garbage bag rolled up under my wedding dress and taped around my thigh.” On if she would ever get married in Rome: “It’s a beautiful place. Other than this movie, I don’t have any affiliations or family there. I’m a big fan of being much more intimate with any kind of experience like an anniversary, wedding or any sort of family reunion, so I think I’d probably keep it more close to home.” On her fave cause at the moment: “Invisible Children is a very important charity to me, they fight to end the use of child soldiers in Uganda, build schools and provide education to the war effected kids there. It is run by close and personal friends, so I know my donations are going to a good place and being used wisely! Invisible Children will send a relief team to Haiti to provide $100,000 in direct relief services. But we need your help. Please, if you do anything today, do this. Brad, 46, and Jen, 40, have both been subpoenaed in a case that begins March 8 against their endorsement agent Todd Shemarya. Lawyer Keith Fink tells Life & Style that his client, Heather Devlin, is suing Todd (her former boss). Brad is being called as a witness about "Todd's practice of getting and keeping gifts from high-end outfits that were intended for Brad," he says. Jen is being called "primarily because Todd falsely claims she complained about Heather." See you in court! Maybe. |

I loved Lux (Brittany Robertson), who was adorably cute, witty and charming. It’s no wonder the showed premiered to the largest audience (2.74 million) in the Monday 9-10PM hour in over a year on The CW. The episode was amazingly heartfelt and was immediately rewarded with a season pass on my TiVo! The 37-year-old actress picked up some swag from Comptoir des Cotonniers while she went out for some retail therapy. Thandie’s film, 2012, was recently named the highest grossing film in Bahrain’s history, the Gulf Daily News reports. “We always anticipated 2012 would be a big hit but we are delighted with its level of success, topping the biggest movies in recent years,” Mario Junior Haddad, the VP of sales and marketing at the film’s local distributor, said. |

The 45-year-old Law & Order: SVU actress opened up about her show’s new time slot, stressing about money and handling tough Hollywood rejection: On SVU’s new 9 p.m. timeslot to make room for Leno: “It ruined our numbers. The first four episodes, we were considerably down because nobody knew when the show was on. Finally, we’re starting to find our audience again. I hope we go back to where we belong. It was doing so well. Why mess with it?” On stressing about money: “I constantly worry about money. I make a lot now, but I don’t feel that way, because I was poor and had no money for a lot longer than I’ve had it. As an actor, if this show ends next year, then what? As an aging woman, then what? I’m saving money to live on, for the future.
